Vasiliki

Vassiliki bay is very popular at windsurfers and dinghy sailors for the prevailing winds . Care is needed in the approaches .

NOTE : USE THE RED COORDINATES IF YOU ARE USING A WSG84 DATUM  GPS

Approach Vasiliki       (38°37’70N / 020°36’15Ε WGS84 )

Free of dangers , easily identified .The white light house which is on the south cape of Lefkas ( Ak. Doukato ) is easily identified and guides you at the entrance of the bay.From E you have to sail around Ak.Lipso , the village cannot be identified until you sail in the bay.

Mooring

Go stern or bows-to the S or W quay .Care must taken at the E and N side of the inner harbour as it gets shallow .If the inner harbour is full you can go on the N or E quay at the outer harbour .Care is needed at the prevailing wind which tends to gusts usually at 1300-2000 .Alternatively anchor off at the head of the bay (2-5m) .Good holding ,although strong E or S winds can make it uncomfortable
