The approach is free of dangers . At the S side of the entrance the three windmills are easily  identified when sail from N or E . From the S you have to sail around the peninsula until you’ll be able to locate the windmills. Care must be taken on prevailing westerlies usually between 1300 – 2000 during the summer season .

Mooring

The yacht quay on the N side is usually full during the summer season , if you find any space , go stern or bows-to , the holding is good and the max depth is 8 m . Alternative you can go at the W side of the bay , go stern-to with anchor and long line ashore .Care must be taken at the depth that you are going to drop your anchor as the 10m contour and the  20-30m are very close . The sea bed of Kioni bay is full of  anchors .Shelter is good although strong E or NE winds can make it uncomfortable and even dangerous at times .
