LEARN TO SAIL!

Combine training and holidays!

If you are interested to learn sailing and to attend a training course, the protected waters of the Ionian Sea offer an ideal location, with the inland sea offering protected waters with moderate conditions, perfect for training and tuition.

We are partners of the accredided RYA training center, IonianMode which is offering a full range of practical sailing courses from Competent Crew and Day Skipper up tp Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster preparation. RYA (Royal Yachting Association) is the official training standards organisation of the UK.

The sailing school is based in the near by island of Lefkada (or Lefkas) at Lefkada town port . Is an ideal starting point to sail south towards the islands of Meganisi, Kefalonia, Ithaca and beyond or north to Paxos and Corfu. For private tuition is possible to provide embarkation / disembarkation from/to Kefalonia For the RYA Day Skipper & Competent Crew courses the training yachts usually head south to areas with protected waters and abundant harbours and bays for training in mooring and navigation. On Coastal Skipper courses or Yachtmaster Preparation, the waters of the northern Ionian offer ideal open seas, with passages going North from Lefkas with the busiest waters found around Corfu.

The practical sailing courses duration is 7 days on board, lessons are 5 or 6 days depending if lessons are for indivituals training or private tuition. Depeding the weather there is a different destination each day. In this way students get used to living on board and understand the way that the vessel operates and the division of responsibilities between the skipper and crew members.

During the courses, there is time for breaks for lunch and swimming stops and at the end of the training day you are given the opportunity to enjoy each destination. In this way you can combine your holidays with training and obtain a sailing diploma recognized all over the world.
